- First of all, download the PS Remote Play app onto your PC or laptop
- Following the prompts on your PC, use the PS Remote Play app to connect up with your PS4 console
- Using a USB cable, connect your PS5 controller to your PC and link it up to the PS Remote Play app
- Once the Remote Play app is up and running, you should be able to use the PS5 controller (which is still connected to your PC) to control your PS4

Should I connect my PS5 controller to the PS4?
If the DualSense controller is your only option, and you don’t have a DualShock or other PS4-compatible controller lying around, then it’s probably justified to use the PS5 controller on the PS4.
However, using the PS5 controller on the PS4 won’t really give you that next-gen experience. Its Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers would function as if you are playing a PS4 game on the PS5- in that they don’t work. Plus, given the DualSense is allegedly prone to drifting after approximately 417 hours, we’d recommend saving that time for PS5 games in the future.
If you’re in the position of owning a PS4 but not a PS5 and need a new controller, we’d probably recommend not picking up a DualSense for now, either.
